The chapter also discusses on GPS augmentation systems and modernization steps. Chapter 3 aims at providing fundamental information required for GPS surveying. The chapter explains the different methods for GPS surveying, equipments, field operations and quality analysis of GPS observations. The chapter concludes with accuracy standards to be followed for GPS surveying. Aim of chapter 4 is to explain the content of GPS observations. It discusses the GPS observables and fundamental relations to determine unknown positions. It also provides the different errors associated with observations. The chapter concludes with criterion for assessment of quality of GPS Observables. Chapter 5 discusses processing steps involved in determination of positions from GPS observables. It explains the operations involved in pre-processing and positioning followed by criterion for assessment of GPS positions. The chapter concludes with a brief discussion on salient modules of a GPS data processing software. Chapter 6 aims at locating GPS position geo-spatially through network adjustment. It discusses least square network adjustment models and methods, processing strategies, steps for network adjustments and criterion for output quality. The chapter concludes with a worked out example on network adjustment, as detailed theoretically. The book further contains one annexure stating the steps involved for conversion of navigation data to determine satellite positions in ECEF system. Towards the end, the book contains a list of books which have been referred in writing this book. Manuscript has been thoroughly checked through plagiarism software to avoid any copyright violation. About the Author
Dr. Jayanta Kumar Ghosh is working as Associate Professor in the Civil Engineering Department (Geomatics Engineering Group) of Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. He was born in Guwahati, Assam in the year 1962. He did his bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from Bengal Engineering College and Science University (BECSU) in the year 1984 and Master of Technology in Civil Engineering with specialization in Surveying, Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) in the year 1990. He did his doctor of philosophy degree in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR) in the year 1997. He bagged many national (National Scholar 1977, Ist prize by NRDF 1984 etc.) and international (DAAD fellowship 2007, Erasmus Mundus Visiting Professorship 2009 etc.) laurels in his academic career. He is engaged in teaching, research and consultancy works in Geomatics engineering for more than 30 years. He is pioneer in introducing courses on GPS surveying in the UG & PG curriculum of Civil Engineering in India, since 1999. He has conducted many short term courses on GPS Surveying for the building professionals as early as 2002. He has more than 80 publications in the International and National journals of repute and conferences. He is member of different technical associations of National and International repute.

For their roles in the birth of modernism, most of the 14 Russian women artists profiled in this profusely illustrated monograph by a Soviet art historian came from far-flung provinces to challenge the overrefined European conventions of Moscow and St. Petersburg. The haunting, turn-of-the-century Symbolist paintings of Maria Yakunchikova were followed by Zinaida Serebryakova's animated realism and by Natalya Goncharova's neoprimitivist fusion of folk art and cubism. Universal War , a series of semi-abstract collages by Olga Rozanova, is a powerful antiwar statement. In the 1920s and '30s as experiment gave way to Socialist Realism, women artists created intimate, poetic yet socially resonant "chamber art." This valuable survey closes with two sculptors, Sarra Lebedeva and Vera Mukhina, who ventured beyond the limits imposed by Soviet bureaucracy to forge personal statements of woman's vitality and her place in society.

The history of such a colorful, successful rock band as the British supergroup Queen ("Bohemian Rhapsody") is a story worth reading--but not as written by these amateur authors, the manager of the Queen Fan Club and the "archetypal 'superfan,' " respectively. Beginning with the birth of each band member, the book takes readers on a 45-year trek that ends with the death of lead singer Freddie Mercury in 1991. Unfortunately, the authors include everything , burying fascinating anecdotes (a tea party with Groucho Marx in 1977; the 1978 filming of 65 naked women on bicycles in Wimbledon Stadium to promote "Fat Bottomed Girls" and "Bicycle Race") under endless details. Few readers will want to know the musicians' high school grades or where the band changed planes on the way to a concert. On the other hand, they will want to learn more about the enigmatic Mercury, whose flamboyant camp act transformed four heavy metal musicians into skilled performance artists with worldwide popularity. Given the authors credentials, it isn't suprising that there is a certain bias--"the only thing the press concentrated on when writing up news of the opening of the world's biggest ever rock festival, was the 'near riot' . . ." The book does contain an impressive 35-page discography/videography, useful for music collectors--in 1991, Queen became the second most collectible band after the Beatles. Photos.

This is the kind of plodding, detail-oriented, homogenized narrative you would expect from the band's international fan club president and de facto discographer, positions held by authors Gunn and Jenkins, respectively. Mostly uninspired, this first significant Queen biography to be written under the aegis of the band could have benefited from more guidance. Until Freddie Murcury's AIDS-related death in 1991, Queen had literally conquered the world in terms of concert attendance, album sales, and artistic innovation during the group's 20-year career. Unfortunately, the narrative lacks the band's energy and sags under the weight of a this-is-the-band and, especially with regard to record chart activity, day-by-day approach. Still, anyone who can remember where he or she was upon first hearing "Bohemian Rhapsody" will probably love this work. Recommended where pop-music biographies are in demand.

If you're looking to find out how Freddie Mercury contracted HIV, it's not for you. If you care about the band's formation and early appearances or the arduous process of obtaining a recording contract, though, it's a fine resource. Devout fans Gunn and Jenkins became privy to the group's inner workings, and although their book was not commissioned by Queen, the band gave them plenty of cooperation. But any criticism in itfor instance, when Gunn and Jenkins compare Queen's extremely familiar Bohemian Rhapsody to the ubiquitous Led Zeppelin warhorse, Stairway to Heavenis unintentional. So it's hardly surprising that Gunn and Jenkins also pay scant attention to the scary underside of the rock music business or to the sexual innuendos of the band's presentation. Perhaps the sleazy side of Queen will emerge in the next book on the band. Mike Tribby

For the most part, this book reads like a list of dates and locations. A lot of interesting details of the Queen story are left out. A casual fan of Queen's music won't find this very interesting. This one is for the true fans only.

Queen Rule The World!

The complete and virtually unabridged biography of the greatest band of all time is a must-have for any fan. It details the lifes of Freddie, Brian, John and Roger from their respective births, and leaves little out (apart from the malicious gossip that so frequently found in the tabloid papers about them).
The book is written by Jacky Smith (nee Gunn), the manageress of the Offical International Queen Fan Club (which is now the longesy running fan club of all time) and Jim Jenkins, a long time fan who was at most of the concerts Queen ever gave, so the authority from both people is a good one. You cane expect everything in the book to be completetly factual, and absolutley respectful to Queen and their families.

Best ENFP book out there!

I am about halfway through this ENFP guide and I noticed no one has written review for it. Having read a large number of ENFP books and sections in other career/personality books I already am finding this to be my favorite for a number of reasons.

1. It isn't ridiculously short! The stand alone books and the sections for any individual type within a larger book all seem somewhat lacking in depth due to lack of content.

2. This book seems to really dish out the positive and negative aspects of this personality type. In turn it explains how to work towards strengths and manage weaknesses.

3. The author has really constructed something which hits you from many angles. There are cited aspects for how ENFP people develop over their lives. There are layers of other personality subsets using other personality profiles, and suggestions for looking further into this new info. There is a lot of input from other fellow ENFPs.

4. In every section the info seems so valid, but beyond that there have been many quotes, suggestions and descriptions that have really hit home and given me "the feels" or made me laugh out loud. Obviously I can't guarantee you will feel the same but if you are an ENFP it's probable you will and that you will love feeling understood and validated! ;-)

I will gladly update this review when I have finished the book, but I wanted to put something out there to encourage people to give this book a go if they are looking for more information on the ENFP personality. This book is much better than the cheapies or the freebies or the "one chapter" in any of the bigger books like "What Color is Your Parachute?", etc. Well worth $4.99!

UPDATE: Sorry I forgot to update this when I finished reading the book. That said, I am not sure there is that much more to be written which I haven't already covered. I've read a lot of published material on the personality types, and ENFPs in particular, but this book is hands-down my favorite ENFP resource out there as it is thorough, comprehensive, affordable and well-written. There are a lot of self-published books out there that make the inner-editor in many of us cringe, and this isn't one of those books. My hope is that all the types get a book as great as this one, as it is a valuable resource. Thanks, Heidi Priebe!

At 35 years of age I finally get myself !

Omg this is me, this is me ! What can I say - Firstly, well go out and download it right now. Secondly, years, seriously years of therapy for self esteem issues did not give me such a clear understanding and appreciation of myself. There's nothing scientific about it but once you understand who you are, how you function, what makes you tick everything else makes sense and everything that didn't make sense before eg crappy friendships, terrible relationships, wrong job choices you get that aha! eureka ' that's the reason why' moment.

This is the best ENFP book out there.

I admit that I feared I might be getting a book full of information that could have easily been found on the Internet and I am so glad that I was proven wrong. This was the first book that not only explained cognitive functions to me in a way I understood, but also how those functions interact. Understanding that made the way that I think made so much more sense. I loved the chapter on follow-through because that is a daily struggle in my life. While the author shows that there are many positive traits about being an ENFP, I was so glad that she mentioned the dark side of the personality and what it looks like when shadow functions manifest because that was something I was going through then and I never knew how an ENFP specific downward spiral looked or how to climb up from it. The ENFP inclination to relate to introversion was touched on here. I also liked how the general compatibility to each type was explored.All this information was exactly what I was interested in. I love this book and I hope other types are blessed enough to get a book just as good about them.

About the Author

DOUGLAS J. PISANO is Dean of the School of Pharmacy and Professor of Pharmacy Administration, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Dr. Pisano received his Ph.D. in Law, Policy, and Society at Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy and the American Pharmaceutical Association. A national speaker and invited lecturer, Dr. Pisano was the recipient of the Special Service Award for the Enhancement of Regulatory Education from the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society in 2000. He has developed several courses and programs at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in such areas as health policy, pharmacy and drug law, and regulatory affairs. Dr. Pisano, along with coeditor Dr. David S. Mantus, is also the editor of the first edition of Informa Healthcare’s FDA Regulatory Affairs: A Guide for Prescription Drugs, Medical Devices, and Biologics.

DAVID S. Confusing Amazon editions listing

Amazon lists a 2003 paperback as 2nd edition and this hardback 2008 as "second edition." This hardback 2008 is clearly a later edition although both are so called second editions. Maybe the other should be called first edition, or maybe the mere fact the other was a paper back printing triggers a not-very-accurate second edition logo.

Well done book. The earlier (2003/2005) edition is available on kindle but not the 2008.

Meet the FDA Head on

I used this book as part of my reference for a Couse in " Regulatory Affairs". for anybody who is interested in this field this is the most comprehensive review to date. I feel like the Author mapped the entire process from "Concept to Product" This is a very good book well researched, and a valuable resource to students and other people in the industry.

Ronald B. Geskus is an associate professor at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam. He received a Ph.D. in mathematics from the Delft Technical University.
